CHOOSING A DOG CRATE

When choosing a crate or carrier firstly you must ensure that it’s not too large or too small. If it is too big your dog may slide around during transit or be tempted to eliminate in his dog crate. If it is too small it will be uncomfortable for him. Ideally, your dog should have enough room to stand up and turn around in a circle.

INTRODUCING THE DOG TO THE CRATE

Don’t forget to slowly get your dog used to his new crate or dog carrier when crate training your dog. Encourage him to eat, play and sleep in the crate. Hopefully, this means that he won’t associate their dog crate solely with something negative, like being whisked off to the vet.

Woofers World recommends a Behaviour Coaching Session from one of our certified Trainers to assist you in setting your pooch up for a positive crate experience. Call 1300 269 969 to book or discuss.
